Speaking up or speaking out can be a challenge – if you’re not prepared. Acquiring six simple skills will help you become a confident and effective communicator.

We think it's great that Imaan had the courage to deliver a presentation in public! Perhaps she could have practiced her speech to her Mum and Dad so she felt more confident that she knew what she was going to say. It's always looks more professional to do these things without notes so practicing with people you feel comfortable with first is always a good start!

Controlling your breathing can really help to calm you down. Our class have been working on several breathing exercises so we can draw on them when we're feeling under pressure. Take your time - talking very fast can be really distracting for an audience.
